Hot Peppers

Hot peppers are a part of the capsicum family. The natural chemical that puts off the heat is called capsaicin. Studies have found that capsaicin is toxic to cancer cells. Researchers have found that capsaicin disrupts the energy source of the cancer cell, which is the mitochondria. This resulted in the cancer cells dying that the, yet there is no harm done to normal cells.


A groundbreaking study published in the journal Anticancer Research reveals that one of the most extensively researched and promising natural compounds for cancer treatment, curcumin, from turmeric, has the ability to selectively target cancer cells while leaving non-cancerous cells unaffected. In contrast, chemotherapy and radiation kill both normal and cancerous cells, reducing the body’s natural healing ability. Although not approved by the FDA for promotion as a cancer remedy on its own, many studies are revealing that this natural root is effective at treating cancer, with results more effective than chemotherapy or radiation.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is a vinegar made from apples and has been reported to help with many ailments in the body. FDA Approved: Paint Thinner In Children’s Cereals



The challenge to be informed about what we are eating grows ever more complex. Many people trust Trader Joe’s as one of the smaller grocery store chains offering higher quality foods without unnecessary additives, and other harmful ingredients that can cause cancer, neurological damage, or developmental delays. But one mom recently found trisodium phosphate, an industrial strength paint thinner in her children’s Trader Joe’s breakfast cereal, and she is wondering what it is doing there. (The ingredient is found in other popular cereals as well).

Trisodium phosphate, otherwise known as trisodium orthophosphate, sodium phosphate, or TSP, is well known by construction workers, DIYers, and developers, but not to most parents shopping for their morning meal. It is an inorganic phosphate which can be detrimental to our health. It is often used in place of mineral spirits to remove paint!

It isn’t just Trader Joe’s that sells cereal containing TSP; it is in hundreds of foods, in dozens of stores, as an ‘additive’ which the FDA has called ‘safe,’ but even the activist environmental group The Clean Water Act has taken steps to limit the use of TSP in cleaning supplies because it damages the environment. Shouldn’t that give pause to the food industry, and make them question why it should be in our food? It shows up in toothpaste, hair color, processed cheeses and meats, canned soups, and even mouthwash. What kind of ‘additive’ is this anyway?

Just some of the minor problems with eating TSP include:

  • The reduction of bone density due to mineral leeching
  • Calcification of the kidneys
  • Serious irritation of gastric mucosa
  • Abdominal burning
  • Shock

PesticideInfo.org says that this substance should be avoided at all cost. Just as Subway removed a harmful additive to their breads recently due to a blogger’s pressure and subsequent petition, signed by thousands, this substance needs to be removed from all food, or ingestible items – especially cereals or baby toothpaste that children consume.

You can let your local grocery stores know that they shouldn’t carry products which contain TSP. You can boycott items yourself that contain it, or you can tell the FDA just what you think of their ‘safe’ classification of this obvious toxin. Consumers have a right to non-toxic foods, and TSP definitely doesn’t belong in a bowl of your kid’s cereal.

Eating These Foods Will Increase Your Risk of Developing Cancer and Heart Disease



Today, there seem to be a growing amount of evidence that eating processed meats can increase your risk of cancer and heart disease. More people are turning to a vegan diet, to completely cut animal-related products from their diet. It turns out, ditching the meat in favor of healthy plant-based meals could be one of the healthiest choices.

According to a recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO), processed meats are one of the leading causes of cancer, ranked right next to cigarettes. Like cigarettes, meat contains carcinogens that could lead to various types of cancer, including colon cancer.

As part of this study, researchers concluded that eating just 50 grams of processed meat each day can increase your risk of bowel cancer by 18 percent. 50 grams of meat are equivalent to two slices of bacon or one sausage.

Processed meats are manufactured using sodium nitrite.

During the processing of certain meats, sodium nitrites combine with naturally present amines in the meat to form carcinogenic N-nitroso compounds.

When ingested, these compounds are associated with cancer, according to the study.

What meats are considered processed? Some you may not have considered. It includes any meat that has been preserved by smoking, curing, salting or adding preservatives. Meats such as:

  • Ham
  • Bacon
  • Pastrami
  • Salami
  • Hot dogs
  • Sausages
  • Luncheon meat
  • Some red meats


Eating Meat Can Increase Your Risk of Heart Disease

Across the developed world, meat-based diets are thought to be directly linked to higher rates of coronary heart disease. In the UK and the United States, heart disease is the leading cause of death. In fact, one out of four deaths in the US can be linked to heart disease.

Aspartame – Sweet Killer – It puts the DIE in Diet Soda

Aspartame (E951) is an artificial sweetener, used in over 6000 products. The food industry claims that aspartame helps in losing weight, but why is obesity then becoming such an ever increasing problem?
Aspartame is a very sweet chemical, responsible for a host of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, brain diseases, migraines, ADHD, etc.

Aspartame breaks down into three toxic components:

1. Methanol – This is poisonous alcohol. In the body, methanol breaks down into formaldehyde, which is a poison.
2. Phenylalanine – This decreases the amount serotonin in your brain, which leads to mood swings (depressions) and an increased appetite! That is why aspartame is one of the main causes for the current obesity epidemic.
3. Aspartic acid – This is a neurological toxin comparable to MSG.

Sweet misery

The researchers also noted that aspartame appears to cause excessive signaling of nerve cells, and nerve cell damage or even death. By disrupting the functioning of the cells’ mitochondria, or energy source, aspartame leads to a cascade of effects on the whole system.

“The energy systems for certain required enzyme reactions become compromised, thus indirectly leading to the inability of enzymes to function optimally,” the researchers wrote.

According to a research review conducted by South African scientists from the University of Pretoria and the University of Limpopo and published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, high intake of the artificial sweetener aspartame may lead to the degeneration of brain cells and various mental disorders.

 Same face, different name

Previous research was reviewed and it was found that aspartame, marketed as NutraSweet, Equal, Canderal and Tropicana Slim, leads to both direct and indirect changes in the brain when consumed in high quantities. It was found that the chemical can disrupt amino acid metabolism and structure, degrade nucleic acids, and interfere with the function of nerve cells and hormonal systems. It also appears to change the concentration of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.

Aspartame is used in more than 6,000 products around the world. It has been controversial since its introduction, with a number of studies linking it to cancer and neurological and behavioral disorders. Side effects have been reported by many people including headaches, insomnia and even seizures from aspartame consumption.

The FDA and the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), however, continue to insist that the sweetener is safe.

Immediate reactions include severe headaches, dizziness, attention difficulties, memory loss, throat swelling, and seizures.

How Flu Shots Make You Prone to Disease
